During the year 2019, UAE brought some reforms in its residential visas. As we all know, UAE doesn’t allow you to become a permanent resident of the country, and it becomes difficult for the entrepreneurs and businesses who have three-year residency visa. So, UAE Government decided to implement a Golden Visa which can allow you to stay in the country for five to ten years.

Now the question arises, who are entitled to receive the golden visa?

All those individuals who are either an entrepreneur, investor, any individual in a field of science and technology or any student who came with the motive of achieving a degree in the field of science can be eligible for a Golden Visa, only if he/she can fulfill all the criteria. These visa includes a wife and a child too.

Criteria for Ten-year Golden Visa

To be an eligible candidate, you have to fulfill following needs:

• To those individuals who have invested an amount of approximately AED 10 million. It can be any investment, such as:
  • A fund with an investment of AED 10 million
  • a business with capital of AED 10 million
  • A partner in an existing firm with share value meeting the target of AED 10 million
  • If the investments are not part of the real estate than it cannot be less than 60%.

        CONDITIONS

1. These funds should not be part of loan.
2. Individual should keep these funds for at least three years.
3. Individual should be financial solvent with AED 10 million.

• To those individuals who have some specific talent in the field of science and technology as well as those people who are interested in bringing changes in the field of art and culture or investors. Although there are some conditions that need to be fulfilled first.

CONDITIONS

1. Those individuals in the field of science should either be accredited by Emirates Scientists Council or they should have been honored with Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal.
2. Those pursuing arts should be accredited by Ministry of culture and youth.
3. There should be a Ministry approved patent with every investor.
4. Those seeking for visa should be owner of big company and those talents should be documented by patents
5. Doctors should satisfy any two of the following conditions:

1. Graduated from any top 500 universities
2. An award holder or a contributor 
3. Wrote a book or an article
4. Member of an organization
5. Should be specialized in areas that are priority in UAE
6. Should have a Ph.D. degree with experience of 10 years 

Criteria for Five-year Golden Visa

To be an eligible candidate, you have to fulfill following needs:

• Individual should be an investor.

CONDITIONS:

1. It should be valued at AED 5 million.
2. These funds should not be part of loan.
3. Individual should keep these funds for at least three years.

• The entrepreneurs should have been working on a project with a minimum capital of AED 500,000 or those who have been granted permission from business incubator.
• Those students who are passed with 95 percent marks and the college students with 3.75 plus GPA.
